New for 2020 – Equipe 50s
We are launching a new grid in 2020 for 1950s Production Sports Cars and Sports Racing Cars from this evocative and exciting era.
Equipe 50s combines Production Sports Cars under 3.8 Litres and Sports Racing Cars under 2 Litres with classes split pre post 1956. Races will be 20 minute qualifying and either a 40 minute pit stop race (for one or two drivers) or two 30 minute races
2020 has dedicated 50s races and races running as a separate grid within the Equipe Pre 63 grid. The Equipe 50s will have its own podium and class awards. In addition, Equipe 50s cars will also be eligible for the Equipe 3 Hour Relay as well as the Equipe Summer Classic at Spa.
Equipe 50s will run on Dunlop Historic tyres and to FiA appendix K specification: FiA papers are welcome but not mandatory. Equipe 50s is a series, not a championship so is open to individual entry of any event.
By carefully selecting eligible cars, the original Equipe GTS series has delivered close and exciting racing with an emphasis on competitive yet high driving standards and a high level of car preparation. Equipe 50s will follow the same ethos and also have the club and social feeling of the original brand.
The 1950s had a wide and iconic range of racing cars with production cars from Jaguar XKs, MGAs, T Types and Lotus Elites competing with small volume Sports racers from Lotus, Cooper, Lola and Elva. Equipe 50swill have separate classes for engine size and Sports Racing classes split pre and post 1956 to account for performance and braking differentials.
